Singapore Comics Community

Art Spiegelman once said "Comics are a gateway to drugs literacy". And how true it is for many comic readers that our first tentative steps in comics has bloomed into full-blown love affair that follows us into adulthood.
It was by pure joy when we discovered that many of our friends read comics. After reminiscing and lamenting our love-hate affair with comics, we felt it was long overdue that there should be a fan-based comics community in Singapore.
Fast-forward 5 months and 1000 members (and growing) later, Singapore Comics Community has organized / supported several events which include hosting Artists Signing Events with Ariela Kristantina (Wolverines, Deep State), Ario Anindito (Wolverines, Red Hood and the Outlaws) and Sonny Liew (Art of Charlie Chan, The Shadow Hero, Dr Fate) at local comic shops, Free Comic Book Day bookstore hopping events, Caring-Thru-Comics charity events, and launched a couple of newsletters.
We felt that the next step is to provide a platform for our members to showcase their writing skills, express their opinions about comics and the comics industry, provide reviews on comics and comics-based movies, tips on comics collecting and so on; We hope you enjoy the blogs here, written by fans for fans.
